Margaret Linder, 80, of Oklee, MN died on Tuesday, February 06, 2001 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Clearbrook, MN where she has resided since October 14, 1998. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2001 at 10:30 AM in Salem Lutheran Church, Oklee, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson Officiating. Burial will be held in the Salem Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday only.

Margaret Linder was born April 17, 1920 at Equality Township, Red Lake County, MN daughter of the late Ole and Margit (Knutson) Torkelson. She was raised and educated in Equality Township. Margaret worked on area farms as a domestic laborer. On July 1, 1944 she was united in marriage to Frank Linder at Oklee, MN by Reverend J.K. Lerohl. The couple lived and farmed in Garnes Township near Oklee all of their lives. Frank passed away in 1980 and Margaret resided at the farm until entering the Clearbrook Good Samaritan Nursing Home on October 14, 1998.
Margaret always enjoyed visiting, gardening and flowers. Her especially enjoyed spending time with her sons and her three grandchildren. Margaret loved to bake and cook and was known for her baked beans. She was an active member of the Salem Lutheran Church and the ladies aid.
She is survived by her sons Robert (Gloria) Torkelson of Oklee, MN; Ron Linder of Plummer, MN; Galen (Val) Linder of Oakland, CA; Jim Linder of St. Cloud, MN and Steve (Donna) Linder of Oklee, MN. Grandchildren Ben, Levi and Amber. Sisters-in-law Berniece Torkelson of Oklee, MN, Inga Linder of Plummer, MN, Hilda Linder of Plummer, MN, Mabel Linder of Florida and Many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 9 brothers Tom Torkelson, Isaac Torkelson, Knute Torkelson, Osmond Torkelson, Benny Torkelson, Martin Torkelson, Oscar Torkelson, Carl Torkelson, Nere Torkelson and two sisters Bertha McDaniel and Carrie Birkeland.
