Margery Bjorsness, 78, died Monday, May 1, 2006 at Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Funeral service will be 2 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Evangelical Free Church, Newfolden, MN, with Reverend Gary Barrett officiating. Burial will be at Bjorsness Cemetery, Newfolden Township, Marshall County, MN.

Visitation will be 5- 8 PM, Friday, May 5, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to service at the church, Saturday.

Margery Suzanne Christensen was born October 27, 1927 at Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Waldie and Milda (Shefveland) Christensen. She was baptized and confirmed at Evangelical Free Church, Thief River Falls, MN. She attended school in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945. She also attended Moorhead Teachers College for 2 years. She taught at Roseau and Crookston, MN schools.

On June 27, 1952, Margery was united in marriage to Arlyn Sollom at Thief River Falls. To this union 2 children were born, Joydell and Michael. The family lived near Thief River Falls. When Arlyn died October 1, 1955, Margery moved to Newfolden, MN, where she began teaching at Newfolden, MN in the fall of 1955.

She married Lawrence Larry Bjorsness, April 17, 1962 at Newfolden, MN. The couple made their home near Newfolden, MN. Marge and Larry adopted Carol in June 1965. She stayed at home to raise her family until Carol started school, when she returned to teaching and continued until 1985, when she retired.

Margery was a member of Evangelical Free Church and Ladies Group, Sunday School teacher, a member of Christian Womens Club and was active with Gideons. She liked to quilt, garden and read. Her family was very important and she always enjoyed spending time and visiting with them

Margery is survived by husband, Larry, Newfolden, MN; children Joydell (Dennis) Skjerven, Newfolden, MN, Michael (LuAnn) Sollom, Holland MI and Carol (LeRoy) LaFrance, Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy and Jaden Skjerven, Heather (Monte) Booren, Anna, Nathan and John Sollom, Rachel, Joshua, Jacob and JoAnna Helm; 3 step grandchildren, Brent, LeRoy Jr., and Crissy LaFrance; 3 great grandchildren, Anthony Skjerven, Ethen Skjerven and McKenna Booren; sister, Ivadell (Wallace) Reierson, Thief River Falls, MN; brothers, Wallace Christensen, Stanwood, WA, Merle (Laura) Christensen, Fresno, CA and Clyde (Verna) Christensen, Thief River Falls, MN and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by husband, Arlyn, grandson, James, parents and sisters-in-law, Ruby and Violet.
