Maria Boucher, 88, died on Tuesday, Septemer 12, 2006 a First Care Medical Services in Fosston, MN.
Maria Robidoux was born on January 3, 1918 in Poplar River Township, near Brooks, MN, the daughter of Napoleon and Laura (Fournier) Robidoux. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith and attended school in Brooks. She worked for a number of families in the community prior to her marriage. Maria was united in marriage to Melvin Boucher on November 16, 1937 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks. The couple lived in the Oklee area and in 1944 they purchased the farm in Lambert Township where she continued to live until the time of her death. Melvin died on March 19, 2003.
Maria enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, playing cards and she made many quilts for family and friends.
Maria is survived by three children: Joanne Benson of Grand forks, ND, Carol (Charles) Bachand of Brooks, MN and Michael Boucher of Brooks, MN; 12 grandchildren: Jim Benson, Cathy (Kevin) Barnes, David (Jean) Benson, Laurie Benson, Christine (Brian) Modahl, Dale (Betty) Benson, Lisa (Sten) Christiansen, Michele (Jim) Weber, Tony Bachand, Mary (Jeff) Novacek, Karin (T.J.) Dulka and Kimberly (Rich) Johs; 22 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; four sisters: Rose Boucher, Alice Bluemke, Lucille Bluemke and Margaret Robidoux; four sisters-in-law, Irene Boucher, Mae Griffey, Geraldine Robidoux and Carol Robidoux; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; three brothers: John Robidoux, Xavier Robidoux, and Jerry Robidoux; and her parents.
