Marian Schroeder, Grygla, MN, age 81 passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN.

Funeral service will be 3 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla, MN with Rev. Vicki Saude-Worthington officiating.  Burial will be at Our Savior's Cemetery, Grygla, MN.

Visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marian Joyce Olstad was born February 23, 1937 at Grygla, MN, the daughter of Olaf Emil and Cora Marion (Aaserud) Olstad.  She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith.  She attended high school in Goodridge graduating in 1954.

On February 2, 1957, Marian was united in marriage to Arden J. Schroeder at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Grygla, MN.  To this union 5 children were born: Kristi, Diane, Lisa, Kurt and Troy.  She worked for 11 months in Duluth, MN and in 1955, she moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she worked at several jobs. Arden passed away February of 1981.

She was a wonderful caregiver and loved to play cards, bowl and spend time with her family and friends. Marian became reacquainted with Lloyd Mostrom (A Goodridge High School Classmate) in 1983 and they enjoyed many years together. In 1993 Marian and Lloyd became snowbirds in Arizona, Where they loved their winters away from Minnesota.

Marian is survived by children: Kristi Anderson, Goodridge, MN, Diane (Bruce) Solberg, Goodridge, MN, Lisa Williams, Minneapolis, MN, Kurt (Geraldine) Schroeder, Fridley, MN and, daughter-in-law Carrie Schroeder of Blaine, MN; 11 grandchildren: Jason (Candace) Schroeder, Joyce (Greg) Geving, Kristian (Kassie) Solberg, Justin (Kara) Davis, Joshua Davis, Alyssa Williams, Amanda Williams, Nicholas (Megan) Schroeder, Nicholas Peter, Jessica (Brandon) Matykiewicz and Haley Schroeder; 18 great grandchildren: Shey-anne, Austin, Taylor, Isaac, Raymond, Gunnar, Arden, Chase, Brooklyn, Paisley, Tycen, Gavin, Amiyah, Avaeh, J'Adore, Jade, Sullivan and Otto; brother, Curtis Olstad, Greenfield, MN, sisters Olive (Tom) Pinske of Plato, MN, Sharon Ellingson of Glen, MN and Janet Kostick of Glen, MN along with many nieces and nephews..

She is preceded in death by husband, Arden Schroeder, special companion Lloyd Mostrom, son Troy Schroeder, granddaughter, Amy Schroeder, parents, Olaf and Cora (Aaserud) Olstad, grandparents, Christ and Juline (Martinsen) Marie Aaserud and Iver and Mathea Olstad and a baby brother in infancy, brothers-in-law Owen Harmer, Arlen Ellingson, Tom Kostick; sister-in-law Cathy Olstad.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Our Saviors Church.
