Marie Hruby, 82, died on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Hospitality House on Dayton Lake in Fergus Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 PM Monday, January 4, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father John Kleinwachter presiding. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marie Louise Evelyn Dessellier was born on September 2, 1927 in Lambert Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Andrew and Alexina (Carriere) Dessellier. She was raised in the Oklee area, and baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN. She attended school in Oklee, MN, graduating from Oklee High School in 1945.

On November 30, 1946 Marie was united in marriage to Rudolph Hruby in Thief River Falls, MN. The couple lived in Oklee their entire lives. Marie worked for Arctic Cat, Lady Slipper Designs of Bemidji and spent many years babysitting for local families. Rudolph passed away on June 23, 1967.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Marie was also very active in the French Club and a fonding member of the local TOPS Club. She loved gardening, baking goodies, camping, puzzles, quilting and embroidering. Her special enjoyment was to sing. There was always music in her home.

Marie is survived by her children: LeRoy Hruby of Oklee, MN, Robert (Mary Beth) Hruby of Fergus Falls, MN, Mark (Kristi) Hruby of Lengby, MN, Jerome (Bernadette Paradis) Hruby of Bemidji, MN and Rosetta Hruby of Oklee, MN; daughter-in-law, Brenda Hruby of Phoenix City, Alabama; 16 grandchildren: Jamie, Julie, April, Matthew, Benjamin, Jonathan, Darla, Cheryl, Bradley, Nathan, Holly, Josh, Alexina, Cassidy, Olivia and Xavier; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Alex (Darlene) Dessellier of Moorhead, MN, Eugene (Margaret) Dessellier of Babbitt, MN, Vincent (Shirley) Dessellier of Oklee, MN, Ernest Dessellier of Oklee, MN, David (Brandi) Dessellier of Grand Forks, ND, Cecelia Christianson of Oklee, MN, Dola (Clarence) Bakken of Nashwauk, MN, Joyce Tougas of Oklee, MN, Carol (Clayton) Haugen of Oklee, MN and Mae Sunsdahl of Crookston, MN, sisters-in-law, Irene Dessellier of Oklee, MN, and Dolores Healy of San Mateo, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph; her parents; son, Gary; brothers and sisters: Onezime Dessellier, Rosalie Demarais, Paul Dessellier, Geraldine Dessellier, George Dessellier; brothers-in-law, Selmer Christianson, Marvin Sunsdahl and Ludger Tougas.
