Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 2:00 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday 4 " 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church and also one hour prior to services in the church on Wednesday.
Marie JoAnne Knott was born July 14, 1934, daughter of the late Louis Jr. and Agnes (Demarais) Theroux in Terrebonne, MN where she was raised and attended rural school. Marie graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls in 1952. She worked as a telephone operator in Red Lake Falls. On May 20, 1954 she was united in marriage to Gordon Knott at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. During the war they lived in North Carolina while Gordon served in the armed forces, the couple returned to Red Lake Falls where they purchased a farm and have since resided. Marie worked at Hillcrest Nursing Home for 18 years.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, cooking, knitting and bird watching. She enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends and her grandchildren were special to her. She prayed every morning and was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the guild and a member of the Legion Auxiliary.
Marie is survived by her husband Gordon of Red Lake Falls, MN; children Mike (Karen) Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN; Bruce Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN; Linda (Leroy) Waliser of Stevensville, MT; Tom (Janelle) Knott of Warroad, MN and Jane Knott of Upsala, MN. Six grandchildren Kristin Knott, Ben Knott, Christopher Knott, Erika Knott, Megan Knott, Danielle Knott. One brother Vern (Diane) Theroux of San Diego, CA and many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Gerald Theroux.
