Marilyn Bannerman, 57, died on Monday, October 28, 2002 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, on Friday, November 1, 2002 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Merrill Kindall officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the Johnson Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services on Friday.
Marilyn Joyce Pikop was born on August 31, 1945 to Marvin K. and Lucille (Knutson) Pikop in Fergus Falls, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN. She attended school in Thief River Falls, MN graduating from Lincoln High School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Marvin Ellis Bannerman on June 19, 1965 in Fordville, ND. They made their home in Thief River Falls. Marilyn was a school bus driver in Thief River Falls for 13 years. She worked at the independent bus service out of Pembina, ND delivering new buses nationwide. She also worked for Abraa Cab for the Soo Line Railroad. For second jobs Marilyn sold anything from Avon to Tupperware and loved every minute of it.
Marilyn enjoyed painting, crocheting, crafts, making homemade bread and donuts, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cards, talking on the telephone, and collecting angels.
She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, and the VFW auxiliary. She was the driver of the Bannerman Club.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Marvin of Thief River Falls, MN; four children: Cari (Troy) Olson, Roseau, MN; Julie (Mark) Deschene, Hallock, MN; RaeAnn (Joey) Svalen, McIntosh, MN; Nancy Bannerman, Thief River Falls, MN; six grandchildren: Andrew and Cody Deschene, Hallock, MN; Kaitlyn Olson, Roseau, MN; Danny Svalen, McIntosh, MN; Kelsey and Wyatt Bannerman, Thief River Falls, MN; her mother Lucille Pikop, Thief River Falls, MN; one brother Wesley (Judy) Pikop, Glendale, AZ; five sisters: Barbara (Dan) Derosier, Little Falls, MN; Nancy (Norvel) Parsley, Warroad, MN; Kathy (Butch) Krantz, Forest Lake, MN; Linda (Richard) Penning, Moorhead, MN; Kelly (Mike) Cornacchione, Clearwater, FL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Marvin.
