Marilyn Casavan, 55, died on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 22, 2004 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Tim McGee presiding.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday.

Marilyn Casavan was born on September 24, 1949 in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Leonard and Demerise (Kelly) Casavan. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Terrebonne, MN and attended Country School near Terrebonne and Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls. She also attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Gene Schafer in 1977. She worked at the Land O Lakes Turkey Plant for 24 years and also at Valley Home in Thief River Falls. Marilyn also lived in Grand Rapids, MN for a time.

She loved being outdoors, gardening and working with her flowers.

She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church.

Marilyn is survived by one daughter, Jackie Bugge of Grand Rapids, MN; her mother, Demerise; and two sisters: Darlene Hanson of Thief River Falls, MN and Shirley Thompson of Watertown, SD.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard; and one brother, Darrell.
