Obituary

Marion Helen Gerardy was born on April 4, 1920 on the family farm, four miles north of Plummer, MN in Red Lake County to Matt and Christine (Reiff) Gerardy. She attended country school for eight years and graduated from the Plummer High School in 1937. She then attended the Akers Business College in Grand Forks, ND. After graduating she accepted a job in the ASCS office in Red Lake Falls. She later worked in Crookston and Moorhead Civil Service positions.

On April 12th, 1945 she married Capt. Edward Lynn Keifenheim in Plummer. She followed her husband to AAA School in El Paso, TX, then to Command and General Staff School in Leavenworth, KS. Following the war, they settled in Red Lake Falls.

Marion was a homemaker and raised six children. She was active in the St. Joseph Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family, playing cards, golfing, her friends, traveling, and 24 years of winter vacationing in Arizona.

Marion is survived by her husband Lynn, Red Lake Falls, MN; four sons, Jim (Linda) of Minneapolis, MN; Gary (Mary), Elk River, MN; Bruce (Martha), East Grand Forks, MN; Charlie (Dana), Buffalo, MN; two daughters, Carole (Volker) Hennig, White Bear Lake, MN; Patrice (Jim) Katzenmaier, West St. Paul, MN; 15 grandchildren, one brother, Gerald (Norma) Gerardy, San Diego, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Walter Gerardy; two sisters, Florence Rausch, Louella Chapiewski.
