Marjorie Corliss, 80, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC, Thief River Falls, MN.
Marjorie May Schofield was born March 22, 1925 in Bemidji, MN to Roy D. Schofield and Theresa May (Shereden) Schofield. Marjorie grew up in Bemidji. In her younger years she was a life guard in Bemidji. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1943, and graduated from Bemidji State Teachers College (now Bemidji State College). Following her graduation from college, she got her first teaching job at Winona, MN, where she met her husband, William Corliss. She taught science from the 1940s to 1990s in Minnesota, Michigan and Pennsylvania. She received her Masters Degree from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI.
Marjorie was united in marriage to William Bill Sherman Corliss Sr., October 30, 1948 in Minneapolis, MN.
She enjoyed bowling, curling and golfing.
Marjorie is survived by children: William (LuAnn) Corliss, Jr., Tucson, AZ, Curtis (Georgia) Corliss, Phoenix, AZ and Christopher (Marsha) Corliss, Williams, AZ; grandchildren: Ophelia and Katherine; sisters, Frances (Betty) Corliss, Minneapolis, MN and Mary Bryant, Mississippi; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, William on December 22, 2004, parents, sister, Helen Elick and brothers, Gene and Bill Schofield.
