Marjorie Iverson, of Goodridge, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN, with Rev. Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Burial will follow at the Goodridge Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.  Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church.

Marjorie Mae Schwartz was born on January 8, 1943 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Henry and Evelyn (Runnestrand) Schwartz.  Margie was baptized on May 10, 1943 and confirmed on June 1, 1958, both at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN.  She attended grade school in Holt and graduated from High School in Newfolden, MN.

On June 26, 1965 Margie was united in marriage to Gary Iverson at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN.  Together they made their home in rural Goodridge where they also raised their children – Melissa, Shelley, and Chris.  The Iverson family kept busy with farming and cattle.

Throughout the years Margie worked for the Co-op Creamery in Thief River Falls, the Goodridge School, and the Goodridge Fire Department.  She served as secretary of the Goodridge Area Lutheran Parish for 40 years.  For over 50 years Margie played the organ at Faith Lutheran Church.

Margie enjoyed sewing, quilting, making lefse, and gardening.  She was active in WELCA, Circle, and mission quilting at Faith Lutheran Church.  She was involved in the Synod WELCA and also served on the board.  Margie actively led her children in the Mavie 4-H Club.

Margie will be remembered for her laugh and bright spirit.  Her family and friends will miss her dearly.

Margie is survived by her loving husband, Gary of Goodridge, MN; children, Melissa (Scott) Detschman of Bemidji, MN, Shelley Iverson of Thief River Falls, MN, and Chris Iverson of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Detschman of Bemidji, MN, and Felicia Iverson of Thief River Falls, MN; aunt, Marilyn Sletten of Thief River Falls, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister, David and Marlys.
