Mark Steven DuChamp was born on May 10, 1948 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Joseph and Hazel (Adolphson) DuChamp. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith. Mark attended Knox Elementary School in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1966. He then attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls.
Mark entered into service with the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Minot, ND, Taiwan for 15 months and Michigan where he was Honorably Discharged after four years of active duty.
On December 27, 1969 Mark was united in marriage to Judy Nicholson at the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls, MN. To this union two children were born Dean and Daniele. The family made their home in Thief River Falls.
Mark drove truck for Hartz Foods for over 30 years and also worked at Independent Machine Service in Thief River Falls until he was forced to retire for health reasons.
Mark loved sports and was very athletic. He was an outstanding pitcher for fast-pitch softball. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, golfing, playing cards, carpentry, dancing, music, visiting with family and friends. Unknown to many Mark was a gifted artist. He was hard-working, loyal and honest. His family was his greatest love. Mark was a devoted husband, great father and role model to many. He was a big man with an even bigger heart.
Survivors include his loving wife, Judy of Thief River Falls; son, Dean (Terri) DuChamp of Prior Lake, MN; daughter, Daniele DuChamp of Thief River Falls; sister, Naida (Jack) Pederson of St. Cloud, MN; sister-in-law, Peggy DuChamp of Lake, MI; brother-in-law, Sam Siegel of Golden Valley, MN; brother-in-law, Don (Carrie) Nicholson of Thief River Falls, MN; brother-in-law, Lynn (Marie) Nicholson of San Dimas, CA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ione Siegel, Joan (Don) Engelstad, Duane DuChamp, and Arden (Darlene) DuChamp.
Mark DuChamp of Thief River Falls, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND with his loving family at his side at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 3 days. May his memory be blessed.
