Mark Paradis of Terrebonne, MN, passed away at Hillcrest Senior Living in Red Lake Falls, MN on Saturday, November 5, 2011
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN, with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will follow at the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Terrebonne, MN. Following burial, lunch and refreshments will be hosted by Mark's family at the Terrebonne Hall in Terrebonne, MN.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Mark Kenneth Paradis was born on July 30, 1934 in Terrebonne Township, MN, the son of Ernest and Dora (Laundry) Paradis. Mark was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Terrebonne.
In 1955, at the age of 20, Mark, together with his brother, Donald, proudly enlisted in the United States Army. Mark and Donald were stationed in Germany for the majority of their time in the service. They were honorably discharged in January of 1958.
Following the service, Mark worked as a lineman at Northholt Electric in East Grand Forks, MN.
Mark married his beloved wife Donna Baatz on December 19, 1959 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mentor, MN. Together they made their home and raised their family of five children in Terrebonne.
Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, socializing with people, gardening and yard work, playing cards, and spending time with his extended family at the River Road Casino.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna of Terrebonne, MN; children, Bernadette (Jerome Hruby) Paradis of Bemidji, MN, and their children PFC Olivia Hruby and Xavier; Kenneth Paradis of Terrebonne, MN; Fred Paradis of Warroad, MN and his children, Rhonda (Les) Shinnaberry, Kirby, and Anthony; Louis Paradis of Roosevelt, MN, and Thomas Paradis of Grand Forks, ND and his children, LaChelle, Devin, and Marcus; great-grandchild, Kira Shinnaberry; brothers and sisters, Henriette (Jim) Stich of Red Lake Falls, MN, Ruth Carriere of Milwaukee, WI, Donald Paradis of Brooks, MN, Irene Miller of Terrebonne, MN, Grace (Duane) Stucy of Pound, WI, Patricia Brower of Las Vegas, NV; sisters-in-law, Pheba Paradis, and Dellas Paradis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mark in death are his parents; sister, Elizabeth Paquin; brothers, Ronald Paradis, Robert Paradis, and Thomas Paradis; brothers-in-law, Adelore Paquin, Onezime Champagne, Fred Carriere, Richard Mussatti, and Robert Miller.
