Mark Salzwedel, age 45, of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home in Red Lake Falls, MN following a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. No services are planned per his wishes. Mark Alan Salzwedel was born July 21, 1970 son of Harold and Carol (Dunbar) Salzwedel at Wiesbaden, Germany. He was raised in Little Lake, Michigan and attended school at Gwinn, MI graduating in 1988. He attended Bay De Noc College in Escanaba, MI where he received an associate's degree. He held several jobs as an auto mechanic before moving to the Detroit Michigan to work at GM and Ford. In October of 2006 Mark moved to Thief River Falls where he was employed at Arctic Cat in ATV Engineering. In 2009 they moved to Red Lake Falls where he has resided since. In 1994 Mark met the love of his life and on December 27, 2007 he was united in marriage to Brandi Setter at Marquette, MI. Mark built and raced his own race car at the Greenbush race track, he enjoyed fishing and camping, participating in archery and working in his garage tinkering with anything with an engine. Mark was a board member of the TRF Archery Club. Mark is survived by his wife Brandi of Red Lake Falls, MN, mother Carol Salzwedel of Little Lake, MI, brothers Erik Salzwedel of Fenton, MI, Jim (Lori) Salzwedel of Ishpeming, MI and Jason (Lisa) Salzwedel of Little Lake, MI, niece Abbi and nephews Nick and Ben of Ishpeming, MI and his four legged friend Butters. He is preceded in death by his father Harold, and his grandparents.
