Mark Sletten, 51 of Thief River Falls, MN died on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.

A gathering time & lunch for family and friends to celebrate Mark's life will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Mark Wayne Sletten was born on July 6, 1966 in Thief River Falls, MN son of Wilford and Marion (Ness) Sletten.  He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith.  He attended school in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1985.

Following school, Mark worked at Hartz Grocery Store in Thief River Falls and then moved to Fargo, ND where he worked at Hornbacher's Grocery.  After moving to Minneapolis, MN, Mark worked as a bartender at the Radison in downtown Minneapolis where he was for many years.

In 2009, Mark returned to live in Thief River Falls where he worked at Falls Liquor and helped Putzy with her catering business.

Mark enjoyed watching the old shows on TV and visiting with friends.

Survivors include his brothers, Daniel Sletten of Thief River Falls and Steven (Leah) Sletten of Warroad, MN and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dave and Randy; and sister-in-law, Linda.
