Mark Allen Thygeson Sr. "Thyge", 61, was suddenly taken from us on September 28, 2021 in Glennallen, Alaska.  Mark was born January 3, 1960 in Thief River Falls, MN to DuWayn and Wenda Thygeson.  Mark graduated from Middle River High School in 1978.  He married the love of his life, Roxanne Anderson on August 21, 1981 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN.  They made their home and raised their five children, Jessica, Brandon, Kevin, Matthew and Mark Jr., in Alaska.  Mark has been employed in the construction and trucking industry for over 45 years.  He was most recently employed at McKenna Bros. Paving.  Mark was a dedicated family man by nature and loved nothing more than when all the kids, their spouses and grandkids came home for gatherings.  In his free time Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, splitting wood, riding his Harley and playing cards.  Watching his grandchildren play sports meant the world to him.  He had a gift to gab and carry on any conversation.  Mark lived by the philosophy "a man is only as good as his word".  Those who were privileged to know him will remember his infectious laugh, his dedication and his honesty.  He was a true genuine and loyal man always giving it a 100%.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Wenda Thygeson.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Roxanne, daughter, Jessica (Roy) Larson, sons Brandon (Autumn), Kevin, Matthew (Rachel) and Mark Jr. (Taylor), grandchildren Hailey and Brady Larson and Diamond Sala; his father DuWayn, brothers Mike, Bryan, Bruce and Monty Thygeson; and an extremely large extended family.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. The service to celebrate Mark's life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Mark's final resting place will be Thief Lake Church in Middle River, MN.
