Marla Raye Westman, 54, of Aitkin, MN formerly of Strandquist, MN was called home to her heavenly father Friday, June 3, 2016 at Riverwood Health Care in Aitkin, MN.

Funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Benjamin Carlsen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Marla Raye Westman was born in Thief River Falls, MN, on December 10, 1961. She was the 7th of 11 children born to Eldor and Irene (Bilodeau) Westman. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith.

As a young child, Marla had spinal meningitis which led to a lot of her health issues. She lived at home until she needed further care at which time Marla moved to Roseau, MN. When she turned 18, Marla went to live at the State Hospital in Fergus Falls where she resided for many years. She later made her home at Johnson's Boarding Home in Thief River Falls; and for the last few years, has lived at Mystic Meadow Homes in Aitkin, MN.

Marla loved visiting with her friends and family. She had great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Marla loved music, and she enjoyed entertaining people with her singing and dancing. If you ever came to meet Marla in your life's journey, she would always remember you and your first name.

She is one who lived her life without judging anybody and lived her life without regrets.

Survivors include her father, Eldor Westman of Strandquist, MN; siblings, James (Wanda) Westman, Diane (John Ystenes) Nelson, Debra (James) Lillico, Darrell Westman, Ronald (Angie) Westman, Tammy (John) Houske, Brian (Rhonda) Westman, Judy (Dale) Webster, Clayton Westman, Stacy (Randy) Vasek; and many nieces and nephews. Marla is also survived by her loving extended family at the homes where she has lived.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Westman in 1998.
