Marlene was born to Albert and Alvina Harbott on September 2, 1939 in Thief River Falls and was raised in rural Red Lake Falls, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and graduated from Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls, MN, in 1958.
Marlene worked at Larson Music, Cenex and Northwest Medical Center (now Sanford) for over 35 years.
Marlene enjoyed getting together with her many friends, sewing, canning and cooking. She took great pride in making dish towels and baby blankets for her family and friends and has even made blankets for her future great-grandchildren. However, the thing that brought her the most joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandsons Jack and Charlie. She loved to watch them play the sports they love, chat on the phone, play games with them and just be around them. She was the most wonderful mom and "grams".
Marlene always put everyone else before herself. She was the kindest, most giving soul. She had so much love for so many and so many loved her as well. She touched many lives with her kindness. She will be forever missed and always lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Ami, and her husband John Schlichtmann, Forest Lake, MN; Grandsons: Jack Ryan Schlichtmann and Charles John Schlichtmann; brother: Donald (Donna) Harbott; good friend Butch Berberich and many other wonderful friends, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Alvina, and sisters: Barbara Huot and Janice Eckstein.
May God bless the memory of Marlene Harbott.
