Marlin Barsness of Oklee, MN passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Bemidji, MN.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN with Reverend Linda Molitor Officiating. Burial will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Oklee, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Marlin Floyd Barsness was born on May 13, 1941 at Oklee, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee. He was a lifelong resident of Oklee until he was unable to live at home and spent the last years of his life at various assisted living facilities the last one being at Cornerstone in Bagley, MN.

He attended Oklee School, after schooling he worked for area farmers and was a long time employee at Jenson Mink Ranch.

He liked to tinker and build things in his garage workshop. He raised a large and very productive garden every summer. He had a fondness for cats and always had one as a companion.

Marlin is survived by his sister Irene Rosten of Oklee, MN, niece Sandra (Darrell) Tougas of Oklee, nephews John Rosten of Plummer, MN, Steven (Bernie) Rosten of Plummer, MN and Bradley Rosten of Newport Beach, CA and several great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Lovina Barsness, brother-in-law Raymond Rosten and his grandparents.
