Marlo J. Solberg Thief River Falls, MN age 67 died on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with Larry Myhrer officiating. Burial will be at the Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Marlo Jean Solberg was born on January 23, 1948 in Thief River Falls, MN to Lloyd M and Harryet I. (Lufkin) Larson. She was baptized on March 16, 1948 and confirmed on Sept. 16, 1962. Growing up, she and her family traveled often giving her the opportunity to live in many places during 1948 to 1963. She returned to the family farm in 1963 and graduated from Newfolden High School on June 2, 1966. On September 16, 1968, Marlo married Orlando R. Solberg of Plummer, MN in a Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. They lived on Orlando's farm until they divorced in December of 1982. Marlo had lived and worked in various areas in Minnesota throughout her life. She worked on her late Husband's farm near Plummer, Land O' Lakes Turkey Plant in Thief River Falls, MN. She attended Area Vocational for Accounting I & II and also secretarial word processing. Marlo sold Tupperware a few different times. She also worked at Falls Day Activity Center, Best Western, Super 8 Motel, Northwest Medical Center, delivery gal for Thrifty White Drug Store, Northern Watch newspaper delivery, Grand Forks Herald newspaper delivery, as well as side jobs helping others. She was a member of 4-H in New York, the Holt 4-H Club, Steiner 4-H Club, was a leader for the Plummer 4-H club, and active parent of Kratka 4-H club, and a donor of Pennington County 4-H Clubs. Marlo enjoyed square dancing, playing bingo, volunteering at Northwestern Hospital Gift and Coffee Shop. She also enjoyed collecting owls, Hallmark Christmas ornaments and other knick knacks. Marlo is survived by her children, Lance Solberg of Emerado, ND, Keith (Sarah) Solberg of Plummer, MN and Lynnet Solberg-Kiyondi of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren Christina and Brendan; 1 God Child, Dominic Solberg of Thief River Falls; siblings, Julie Kleinwachter, Karlene Larson, and Ronda (Roger) Nelson; several Nieces and Nephews along with many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orlando Solberg, Stanley Haugtvedt, Harry Kling, grandparents, and two nephews.
