Marlow Skyberg, 46, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident in Sherman, TX.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla, MN with Dr. Gary Gilthvedt officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Espelie Township, rural Goodridge, MN.
Visitation will be 6-8, Friday, August 1, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.
Marlow Conrad Skyberg was born on February 18, 1962 in Thief River Falls, MN to Conrad and Arlane L. (Lee) Skyberg. As a young boy Marlow went to live with Ben and Donna St. Peter of Puposky, MN. He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1980.
Marlow married Doris Ann Wilkens of Grygla, MN on May 26, 1984. They began their family in Dallas, TX and later moved to Sherman, TX. He worked as an automotive mechanic for UPS for 18 years. Marlow was employed at Stevens Landscaping in Sherman, Texas at the time of his death.
Marlow was an avid hunter and fisherman. He came up to hunt every fall in Grygla with his brother in laws Dean Wilkens and Darald Holthusen, and in Bemidji with his foster family. He also hunted in Holt, MN with the Steinhauer family. Marlow enjoyed 4 wheeling and snowmobiling. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed watching his children in their sporting activities.
Marlow is survived by his wife of 24 years Doris, Sherman, TX, three children: Aaron, Jesse, and Mandy Skyberg, all of Sherman, TX, parents: Conrad M. Skyberg, Holt, MN, Arlane L. Schroeder, Manitowoc, WI, Ben & Donna St. Peter, Puposky, MN; brothers and sisters: Willie & Pamela (Skyberg) Digby, Seagoville, TX, Debra (Skyberg) Linsmeier, FonduLac, WI, Cole & Betty Keeler (Elizabeth Skyberg), Roseau, MN, Gordy & Doon Kaasa (Donna Skyberg), Puposky, MN, James & Kris Skyberg, Manitowoc, WI, Bern & Betty St. Peter, Wadena, MN, Dan & Phyllis St. Peter, Puposky, MN, numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Marlow has hundreds of friends and associates in Minnesota and Texas. He also left behind Harley and Rascal, the family Yorkies.
