Marlys Parker, of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday October 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery at Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Marlys Patricia "Patsy" McEnelly was born July 5, 1941 in Goodridge, MN daughter of the late Roy and Edna (Halvorson) McEnelly. She was raised near Goodridge and attended school graduating from Goodridge High School in May 28, 1959. Following her education while working in the Grand Forks area she met and later married George Parker on March 6, 1960 at Ekelund Lutheran Church near Goodridge. The couple lived in North Carolina for a short time before moving to Red Lake Falls in 1965. She worked various jobs in the area retiring as dispatch for the Red Lake County Sheriff Office. Marlys enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Red Lake Falls. She is survived by her two daughters Deb (Tom) Derouin of Red Lake Falls, MN and Karen (Jon) Huhn of Hudson, WI: grandchildren Connor and Garrett, sisters Colleen Holen of Thief River Falls, MN and Delores Johnsrud of Goodridge, MN and Sharon (Tim) Smith of Ramsey, MN; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband George; brothers-in-law Mayer Holen, Robert Johnsrud, William Parker, and James O. Parker; niece Vickie Johnsrud Austad. In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Friends of the Library in Red Lake Falls.
