Marvin Roisland, 79, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his home in rural Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 18, 2011 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in rural Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Jonathon Dodson officiating. Burial will be held in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Marvin Lloyd Roisland was born on March 27, 1931 to Dreng O. and Mabel Sarah (Omdahl) Roisland on the family farm that he lived all of his life in Kratka Township, Pennington County. He was the youngest of 8 children. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. He attended school at the Peppy Inn Country School. After his schooling, he stayed at home and farmed with his dad. He continued farming that same soil all of his life. He also raised cattle and dairy for many years. Marvin retired from farming in 1994.

Marvin was united in marriage Delores Alverda Mostrom on June 30, 1952 at Ebenzer Lutheran Church. Marvin was active collecting gas engines. He trapped in his younger years and hunted all of his life. He looked forward to deer hunting with his family every year until his health wouldnt let him. He enjoyed old antique shows and steam threshing reunions. He liked riding his four wheeler around the country side and keeping up with the happenings in the area. He was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church.

Marvin is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Delores, Thief River Falls, MN, 3 children, Larry (Lynnae) Roisland, Thief River Falls, MN, Diane (Tom) Kolstoe, Oklee, MN, Janet (Greg) Frokjer, Thief River Falls, MN, 3 grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Kolstoe, East Grand Forks, MN, Christopher (Nancy) Kolstoe, Red Lake Falls, MN, Pamela Kolstoe, Thief River Falls, MN, 5 great grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Elijah, Laurel, and Lexy Kolstoe, and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Marvin was preceded in death by one son, Steven Roisland, his parents, 7 siblings, Bess Lang, Myrt Wilson, Oscar Roisland, Thomas Roisland, Frank Roisland, Vye Wettestad, Doris Roisland, nephews Greg Roisland and Thomas Roisland Jr.
