Marvin Rostvet, 60, died on Wednesday, December 1, 2004, as a result of a farm accident.
Marvin Hartley Rostvet was born on August 14, 1944, the son of Olaus and Minnie (Axvig) Rostvet, on the farm in Silvesta Township, Walsh County, near Adams, ND, one of nine children and a twin to Orlin. He was baptized in Adams and confirmed on May 31, 1959 at Mountain Lutheran Church in Adams. Marvin attended Adams Public School, graduating in 1962.
Marvin was united in marriage to Gloria Jean Bourbanis on July 17, 1965 in Walhalla, ND. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 20 years, working mainly in Montana and Western North Dakota. In 1970 the couple moved to East Valley Township, near Middle River, MN, where they bought a farm. They farmed until 1996, when they moved to Smiley Township, near Thief River Falls, where they raised small grain and cattle.
Marvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, watching the stock market, raising cattle, farming, and especially spending time with his girls and grandkids.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Gloria of Thief River Falls, MN; two daughters: Wannetta (Lee) Wilhelm of East Grand Forks, MN and Sharon (Kirk) Hanson of Fargo, ND; four grandchildren: Jessica and Nicole Wilhelm of East Grand Forks, MN and Gage and Parker Hanson of Fargo, ND; five brothers: Bert (Jackie) Rostvet of Ayr, NE, James (Ardith) Rostvet of Ramona, CA, Orlin Rostvet of Garrison, ND, Roger Rostvet of Bismarck, ND and Conrad Rostvet of Adams, ND; three sisters: Marilyn Helgeson of Fargo, ND, Shirley (Alvin) French of Milton, ND and Amy (Allen) Paulson of Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olaus and Minnie Rostvet.
