Mary Anna Dub was born on December 1, 1905, in Pisek, North Dakota, the daughter of Bohumil and Mary (Cicha) Dub. She was baptized in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pisek, North Dakota and attended Country School. Mary was united in marriage to Cy Thompson in Crookston, Minnesota.
Mary worked at Oakland Park Sanatorium and Mercy Hospital, both in Thief River Falls, as a Nurses Aid.
She enjoyed playing Bridge, gardening, crocheting, quilting and cooking.
Mary was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, St. Jude and St. Johanna Circle, the Catholic Daughters of America, a trustee with the National Catholic Society of Foresters-St. Annes Court 855.
She is survived by two grandchildren: Chris Broeker Hegtvedt (Mark) of Park Rapids, MN and Mary Elizabeth Larson of Brainerd, MN; four great grandchildren: Elizabeth Broeker Hegtvedt, Kevin Hegtvedt, Thomas Larson and Aaron Larson; one great-great granddaughter, Emma Leigh Marchand-Larson; one brother, Leo Dub of Orafino, Idaho; four sisters: Margaret Kotaska of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, Lucy ORegan of Park River, North Dakota, Hermina Jehlicka of San Diego, California and Dorothy Greenway of Seminole, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cy, daughter, Leona Broeker; five brothers; and one sister.
