Matthew Nic Carlson, infant son of Jason and Carolyn (Paulson) Carlson, was born on February 28, 2023 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND and passed away in the presence of his parents.

A Prayer Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Jason and Carolyn Carlson; brother, Clayton Bentley Carlson; Grandparents, Mark Paulson (Tara Lynch), Michelle (Mike) Geske, Jim and Joyce Carlson; Great-grandmother, Phyllis Sletten; Uncles and Aunts, Justin (Kristen) Carlson, John (Krystal) Carlson, Mark "Joe" Paulson; cousins, Mackenzie and Rowen Carlson, Calvin, Corbin, and Caelynn Carlson; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by Great-grandparents, Joseph and Florence (Fontaine) Wiener, Bentley Paulson, Clayton and Marvel Carlson, and Norman and Shirley Baune.
