Obituary

Max Wayne Lemky "Mad Max," age 53, passed away on April 10, 2010 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Max was born January 26, 1957 in the old Saint Lukes Hospital in Thief River Falls to Mr. and Mrs. Curtis and Mabel (Mathson) Lemky.  He lived at home for 53 years with his mother.  They were a great source of help and support for each other.

He was baptized at home in the Lutheran Faith and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.

Max attended first grade through grade twelve in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975 with one of the largest classes of 200 graduates.  Because of his love for music, Max also attended many vocal schools.

After high school, he enrolled at Northland Community College and received a diploma for Sales and Marketing.  Later Max also graduated as a computer tech.

Max was very talented and enjoyed music of all genres.  He played in several bands, including Fire, The Storm, Live Wire and several others.  Collecting and repairing Volkswagens was one of Max's favorite pastimes.  He was a very well known and friendly man.

He is survived by his 13 year old son, Sam, mother, Mabel Lemky, sister, Charlotte Mathson and uncle, Clayton (Inez) Mathson all of Thief River Falls, MN; aunt, Fern Peters Bock of Viking, MN; Sam's mother, Kris Deines of Nebraska and many cousins, relatives and friends.

Max is preceded in death by his father, Clayton who passed away 17 years ago; his older brother, Ed who passed away 2 ½ years ago; maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, 3 uncles:  Charlie Lemky, Stanley Lemky and Donald Peters.

Max will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his Son, Family and Friends.

Visitation will be held 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

The funeral procession will form shortly before 2:00 PM at the funeral home to take Max to Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls where a Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM with Larry Myhrer presiding.

A time of lunch and fellowship will begin at the funeral home at 2:30 PM.  All are welcome.
