Maxine Olson, 55, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Maxine Marie Sybrant was born on November 10, 1952 in Riverview Memorial Hospital in St. Paul, MN the daughter of Wallace Raphael and Teresa Marie (Bolster) Sybrant. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith in South St. Paul, MN. Maxine attended St. Augustines Catholic Elementary School and graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1971.

Through the years Max worked at several different places. She worked at restaurants, tended bar, and drove school bus while raising her two children, Paul and Melissa. In 1990 Max met Gary Olson in South St. Paul at a truck stop and it was love at first sight. In 1991 she and Melissa moved to Roseau where she worked at Polaris, Service Master and Pamida. On January 28, 1994 Max and Gary were united in marriage at Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN by Pastor Hermanson. Through the years, Max and Gary enjoyed driving around the country in Garys truck.

Max enjoyed raising small dogs, bird watching, NASCAR and watching sports on television. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and Garys kids and grandbabies.

She is survived by her husband, Gary of Thief River Falls; son, Paul (Leah Crowell) Varing with baby Varing due August 3, 2008, of Plummer, MN; daughter, Melissa (Troy) Halvorson of Ramsey, MN; grandson, Adrian Halvorson; mother, Teresa Sybrant of South St. Paul, MN; sister, Kathryn (Russell) Wollin of Inver Grove Heights, MN; brothers, Gerald (Linda) Sybrant of Rush City, MN and Kenneth Sybrant of South St. Paul, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Max is survived by all of Garys family.

Max is preceded in death by her father, Wallace; Garys son, Chad Olson; and her grandparents.
