Mayme Lappegaard, 90 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN with her loving family by her side.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating.  Burial will follow at Black River Cemetery, rural St. Hilaire, MN.

Mayme Marion Eidelbes was born February 22, 1928 in Erie, MN the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Forest) Eidelbes.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith.  She attended country school near Erie, MN, Northrop Elementary and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls.

On February 10, 1946, Mayme was united in marriage to Vergil Lappegaard at Thief River Falls.  They made their home in Norden Township and to this union two lovely daughters were born, Gloria and Susan.

Throughout the years, Mayme worked alongside of her husband Vergil on the family farm. She also worked as a cook at various local cafe's including Ben Franklin, The Lantern, and at the display building for Arctic Cat.  She also worked at Dow-Key manufacturing plant.  Mayme worked hard her entire life!

Mayme enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, her cats, watching Westerns on TV, cooking for family holiday gatherings and spending time with all of her family.  She was easy going but didn't mind getting after her grandkids with a flyswatter.  Mayme was known for her beehive hairdo.

She was a member of the Eagle's Auxiliary.

Survivors include daughters, Gloria (John) Erickson and Susan (Mike) Beito; grandchildren, RoxAnne (Lee) Moen, Steven (Pattie) Erickson, Scott Beito, Tony Bottem, Tina (Shane) Nelson, Chad Beito; special son and daughter, Michelle (Mitch) Beito and Terry (Mary) Bottem; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Bryan, Jackie, Chelsea, Shelby, Brody, Kinley, Dawson; great great-grandchild, Matthew; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vergil; parents; siblings, Joe Eidelbes, Violet Eidelbes and Doris Nordhagen; and granddaughter, Tami Beito.
