Obituary

Megan Halvorson, 15, died on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Wesley Langaas officiating. Burial will be in Rindal Cemetery, New Solum Township, Marshall County, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service on Tuesday evening and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Megan Halvorson was born on February 5, 1992 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Jeff and Audrey (Nicholls) Halvorson. She was baptized at birth in the hospital and confirmed this past spring at Abundant Life Church. Megan attended Knox Elementary, Challenger Elementary, Franklin Middle School and Lincoln High School.

Megan was very social and loved people and animals, especially dogs and horses. She enjoyed music and watching movies with her best friend, her brother, Josh. She liked to listen to audio books, swimming, and baking with her mom. Megan had a great sense of humor, she loved laughing at her dad, when putting on her jacket. Megan thought it was hilarious when she went to a new school, and the teachers and aides were unsure of doing her cares correctly. Megan has brightened so many lives with her captivating smile, her happy go lucky attitude and her love for everyone. Megan loved the time she spent with her grandparents, who were always there for her, fishing at her dads and dressing up and wearing makeup.

Megan is survived by her father, Jeff (Tammy) Halvorson of Coon Rapids, MN; her mother, Audrey Halvorson of Thief River Falls, MN; one brother, Josh Halvorson of Thief River Falls, MN; step siblings, Sgt. Wade Russell of Afghanistan, April Russell of East Grand Forks, MN and Mandie Russell (Fianc, Jacob Johnson) of Buxton, ND; step nephew, Kaiden Johnson; grandparents, Betty and Edward Nicholls and Carol and Harlan Halvorson, all of Thief River Falls, MN; step grandparents, William and Jaclyn Wimpfheimer of Farmington, MN; great grandma, Elsie Nicholls of Warren, MN; Aunt Janine and Uncle Doug Nelson of Fargo, ND; cousins, Jordon, Jake and Jessie Nelson; and several other aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Matthew Halvorson; great grandparents, Hannah and Morris Halvorson, Mayme and Carl Aune, Olaf Hall, Abner Nicholls, Robert Korngiebel and Owen and Ida Christensen; and several other relatives.
