Obituary
Melissa Fox of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Moorhead, MN, at the age of 43 after her battle with Friedreich's Ataxia (MDA).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert Presiding. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday.
Melissa Anne (Rausch) Fox was born on December 27, 1971 in Little Falls, MN, the daughter of Robert Rausch and Marilyn (May) Rausch Beaudry. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. In 1973 Melissa's family moved to the Rausch family farm near Thief River Falls. She attended school at St. Bernard's Catholic School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1990. Melissa attended college at NDSU in Fargo, ND.
In 1992 Melissa was united in marriage to Jeffrey Fox. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls where they raised their daughters Lillian and Misica and many pets.
Throughout her life Melissa was involved in 4-H, FFA, and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Pennington County Humane Society Board. Some of her favorite hobbies included taking care of animals, playing computer games, doing crafts such as cross-stitch and crocheting, listening to the beat of the music, playing violin while in school, playing board games with family, and SHOPPING.
In 2012 Melissa moved to an assisted living home in Crookston due to progressing health issues. She lived there for three years before moving to the Golden Living Center in Moorhead, MN, where she passed peacefully.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff and their children, Lillian and Misica all of Thief River Falls, MN; father, Bob Rausch of Thief River Falls, MN; mother, Marilyn Beaudry of Fargo, ND; sister, Monica (Rusty) Scott of Lancaster, NH; brother, Wayne (Terri) Rausch of West Fargo, ND; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and friends.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents; sister, Kristina Rausch, and her two unborn children.
