Melissa Diane Delagarza, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on May 6, 2026, in Badger, Minnesota. Born on September 7, 1977, in San Antonio, Texas, Melissa’s life was marked by a deep commitment to her family, friends, and community.

Melissa’s journey was one defined by compassion and a vibrant spirit. She was known for her outgoing nature and her unwavering willingness to help others whenever she could. Sharing a laugh and lifting the spirits of those around her came naturally, and she never allowed life's challenges to diminish her radiant kindness. Family and friends held a special place in her heart, and she was devoted to their well-being and happiness.

Her educational path took her through Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, and further to Northland Community College in the same town. She continued to pursue her studies at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND, where she expanded her knowledge and prepared for a career dedicated to serving others.

Throughout her professional life, Melissa worked in various roles including positions at Dee’s Kitchen, Handy Farms, Melody’s, The Dawg House, nursing homes, and providing care through at-home hospice services. Her work was always infused with care and dedication, reflecting her genuine desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Melissa is survived by her devoted children: Brandon Hageman, Stephen Senum Jr., Cierra Senum, and Victor Senum, who carried forward her legacy of love and kindness. She also leaves behind her father, Ciro Delagarza, and her brothers Ciro, Tony, and Jacob, as well as her grandmother, Ana Ramon. The extended family, including several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins, also mourns her loss while celebrating the joy she brought into their lives.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Diana Ruiz, and her great-grandmother Reese, whose memories she cherished deeply.

Melissa Diane Delagarza’s spirit and light remain an enduring presence in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, laughter, and family. She will be remembered great affection and respect by those fortunate enough to have shared in her journey.

Visitation will be from 2-4 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.
