Menford Blilie of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of the Grygla, MN area, died on Friday, September 26, 2014 at his home in Minneapolis. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 PM Monday, September 29, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to the service, Tuesday. Menford Edward Blilie (Jr) was born on September 6, 1945 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Menford Blilie and Emma (Henry) Blilie. Menford attended school in Grygla, MN. He was united in marriage to Virginia Alten of Wannaska and of this marriage two children were born; Debra Stokke of Williams, MN and David Blilie of Devils Lake, ND. He moved to Minneapolis, MN where he was employed by Palma Bros. in Minneapolis. Then he went to Carlylie Plastics which eventually turned into Tyco Industries until he retired. Menford was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan; he never missed a game unless he was ill. He is survived by his children, David Blilie of Devils Lake, NS and Debra Stokke of Williams, MN, and two adopted daughters, Tamitha Alten and Tammy Anderson of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Mary (Gene) Goulet of Red Lake Falls, MN, and Ida Blilie of Thief River Falls, MN; and one brother Eddie Blilie of Thief River Falls, MN. Menford is preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother Clifford and many aunts, uncles and grandparents on both sides.
