Merilyn Timm Thief River Falls, MN age 85, died on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN with her loving family at her side. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Merilyn Timm will be held 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Kirk Schield officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Merilyn Ardell Peterson was born on April 4, 1929 in Crookston, MN the daughter of Edwin and Julia (Herberg) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in Crookston, MN. She attended elementary school in Crookston, country school near Hazel, MN and the Agriculture College in Crookston. On April 12, 1949, Merilyn was united in marriage to Bennie Timm in Thief River Falls, MN. The couple made their home on a farm in Rocksbury Township, Pennington County, MN where they farmed and raised their two children Judith and Terrance. Bennie died on December 1, 1981 and Merilyn has continued to live on the farm until March of 2014 when she moved to Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls. Merilyn enjoyed quilting, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening and was wonderful at baking bread, donuts, caramel rolls and other goodies. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. Survivors include her children, Judy (Duane) Robbins of Rapid City, SD and Terry (Linda) Timm of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Kim (Michael) Bolles of Westfield, MA, Teresa (Jason) Olson of Rapid City, SD and Amanda Weigelt of Moorhead, MN; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Trae, and twins Taron and Tatum; sisters, Lorraine Wik of Thief River Falls, MN and Mavis Wichterman of Tucson, AZ; sisters-in-law, Barbara Fletcher of Hibbing, MN, Shirley Timm and Clara Olson both of Thief River Falls, MN; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie; parents; brother, Earl Peterson; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
