Merle LuVerne Lundeen was born December 25, 1933, in Deer Park Township, MN, the son of Emil and Luella (Urdahl) Lundeen. He was baptized and confirmed at Oak Park Lutheran Church. He attended Oak Park Country School. He also attended the Crookston Agricultural College. Merle served in the United States Air Force from 1955 until his honorable discharged in 1958. On December 21, 1957, Merle was united in marriage to Armilla Pugh at Oak Park Lutheran Church. In 1959, Merle bought the family farm where he lived and farmed until 1994. He also worked at Arctic Enterprises, Inter County Weatherization, was a resident manager for Broadway Apartments in Crookston and also worked for River View Tower in Minneapolis, MN. He retired in 1998. Merle held membership in the Farmers Union, National Farmers Organization, Democratic-Farmers Labor, Catholic/Lutheran rural Life Commission, church council and Sherwood Forest Advisory Board. He liked to fish, hunt, snowmobile and church activities. Survived by wife, Armilla; 7 children, Gayle (Greg) Hilgeman, Oklee, MN, Timothy (Candyce) Lundeen, Lancaster, MN, Tony (Dee) Lundeen, Oklee, MN, Barbara Lundeen, Fargo, ND, Perry (Sally) Lundeen, Trail, MN, Jeffrey (Patricia) Lundeen, Oklee, MN and Dale (Sandra) Lundeen, Clifton, AZ; 26 grandchildren, Frances (Brandon), Sylvia, Scott, Shannon (Angie), Alissa, Mindy, Linette, Tony, Matthew, Andrew, Jennifer (Darrin), Kristina, Katrina, Haven, Harlen, Hope, Hogan, Hunter, Rosie, Maisie, Patrick, Tyler, Chelsea, Ashley, Caitlyn and Emily; a great grandchild, Gabriel; a brother, Erling (Melba) Lundeen, Spicer, MN; an aunt, Gayle Urdahl, of California and uncle, Dayton (Arlyne) Silk, of Thief River Falls, MN.
