Michael Hamlin, 53, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020, from a heart attack at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

A Visitation to celebrate Michael's life will take place from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. CDC guidelines will be followed.

Michael John Hamlin, the son of Ralph Isadore Hamlin and Marion (Bircher) Hamlin was born April 18, 1967 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at Jenny Edmundson Hospital.  He became the little brother to Robert, Ralph Jr., Patty, Susie, Richie, Davy, Lynn, Eddie, Lester, and Jeanne.  Michael attended the St. Hiliare Elementary School, Franklin Middle School, and graduated from Lincoln High School.

Michael lived in Thief River Falls his whole life and was blessed to be a Dad to Kayli E. Hoeft and Michael Hamlin Jr.

When he was a teenager Michael started cutting wood with his dad, eventually taking over his wood cutting business.  He worked at the Turkey Plant in Thief River Falls, MN, Elk River Concrete in Crookston.

Michael enjoyed his wood cutting business, which lead to him meeting and enjoying many acquaintances over the years.  He took pride in his business.  Michael loved to go deer hunting with his brothers Ralph, Richie, and Davy in Pine River every year.  Fishing with friends, pheasant hunting, camping, playing cards and games with his nieces and nephews, wrestling, and holidays with family were some of his many favorite pastimes.  Michael had many, many friends.  He was very fun-loving, outgoing, and his laughter and hugs were abundant.  Michael loved his dog, Monkey and took care of Dust Mop – his mother's cat.

Michael is survived by daughter, Kayli Hoeft of Warren, MN; grandchildren, Chloe Kaye-marie Osmundsen, Talen Monte-john Osmundsen, and Adalynn Blake Hamlin; siblings, Ralph Hamlin Jr. of Council Bluffs, IA, Patty (Steve) Cooley of Watertown, SD, Richard Hamlin of Pine River MN, Lynn Hodgson of Moorhead, MN, Eddie Hamlin of Phoenix, AZ, Lester (Stasia) Hamlin of Oklahoma, OK, and Jeanne (Brian) Wilde of Thief River Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Arynn Hamlin of Florida; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Hamlin Jr; parents, Ralph Isadore Hamlin and Marion Hamlin; brothers, Robert and Davy; sister, Susie; and niece, Darla Kay Hamlin.
