Michael Kraemer of Thief River Falls, MN, 65, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at his residence in Thief River Falls, MN surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM on Saturday at church. Michael Jeffrey Kraemer was born on October 15, 1949 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Robert and Anne (Hillyer) Kraemer. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. He attended Washington Elementary School, Franklin Middle School and Lincoln High School graduating with the class of 1968. Michael Kraemer spent his whole life living and working on the Kraemer family dairy farm. He truly was proud of his dairy cows and small grain farming operation. On September 25, 1971, Michael was united in marriage to Peggy Ann Waldera at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. To this union three children were born, Ryan, Matthew and Katie. They made their home on the Kraemer family farm in Smiley Township of Pennington County, MN. Compassion for his family and friends were most important to him. Mike instilled in his children a strong work ethic. He was very close to his seven grandchildren and loved each of them very much. Mike was a very good provider always willing to help not only with his family but with neighbors and friends. Mike worked hard and played hard! Michael was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 40. He endured many challenges and obstacles over the next 25 years. Mike was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Elks Club, Eagle's Club, enjoyed bowling league, loved trying his luck at the casino and watching all of his children's and grandchildren's activities and sporting events, and prided himself on being a good friend connecting with everyone he met. Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy "Dove" Kraemer; children, Ryan (Jamie) Kraemer, Matthew (April) Kraemer all of Thief River Falls, MN and Kate (Mike Wenndorf) Trudeau of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren, Hannah, Erin, Ayden, Abigail, Maizy, Sophia, & Avery; sisters, JoAnn (Marc) Pream of Rochester, MN, Mary (Wayne) Ness of Ramsey, MN, Jean (Steve) Moulds of East Grand Forks, MN, Claudia (Wayne) Bendickson of Baudette, MN, Michelle "Bucket" (Jerry) Paulson of Detroit Lakes, MN; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anne; God-parents, Marceline and Bill Grundhaus; mother-in-law, Betty Ann Waldera; and several aunts, uncles and friends. MJK knows the way!!!
