Michelle Prestebak of Thief River Falls, MN, age 50, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow at Folden Cemetery near Newfolden, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN. Visitation will also be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church. Michelle Marie Folden was born on January 5, 1965 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Leslie and Beverly (Engelsrud) Folden. She was baptized at Bethania Free Lutheran Church, rural Newfolden, MN with Sandra Steinhauer and Don Engelsrud standing as God-parents and confirmed at the Evangelical Free Church in Newfolden, MN. Michelle attended school in Newfolden and graduated with the class of 1983. She then graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Art. Michelle returned to work in Thief River Falls at Discovery Place. On September 30, 1989, Michelle was united in marriage to Tim Prestebak at the Evangelical Free Church in Newfolden, MN. They made their home on the Prestebak Farmstead north of Goodridge, MN. To this union three children were born, Adelle, Adrian and Alan. Michelle enjoyed staying home with her children while they were growing and also worked as a substitute teacher in the Goodridge and Grygla Schools. She most recently worked as a Title 1 Teacher at the Goodridge School. Michelle enjoyed being in her beautiful flower gardens, going to the area Bible Study, sketching, painting, writing poems, naming the cows and spending time with her family and friends. Michelle was a very kind hearted, gentle, and soft spoken woman. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN and the Deer Park Garden Club. Survivors include her loving children, Adelle (Tyler) Christianson of Mentor, MN, Adrian Prestebak of Thief River Falls and Alan Prestebak of Goodridge; their children's father, Tim Prestebak of Goodridge; aunt, Eunice (Rodney) Liedberg; uncles, Donovan (Marilyn) Folden and Eugene (Connie) Folden; and many cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Beverly on July 27, 1996; father, Leslie on October 31, 2014; sister, Donelle on May 27, 1988; grandparents, Conrad and Ruby (Windahl) Engelsrud and Bergman and Thorbjor "Tillie" (Aslakson) Folden.
