Mildred F. Bakke, 101, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Oakland Park Communities, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend John Golv and Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and for one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.

Mildred Bakke was born June 8, 1909, in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Hans and Jennie (Berg) Jacobson. She attended school in Thief River Falls. Mildred was united in marriage to Alfred Bakke, of Newfolden, MN, July 3, 1936, in Thief River Falls where the couple made their home.

Her jobs in life were working at Land O Lakes in Thief River Falls and Arctic Cat in Karlstad, MN for many years. Mildred and Alfred were bailiffs at the court house for years.

Mildreds great joys in life were gardening, handwork, church activities and baking. Family was a top priority, and very precious always. She also enjoyed playing cards and marbles with her friends.

Mildred is survived by her children: Du Wayne (Pat) Bakke, Hudson, WI and Ronald (Karin) Bakke, Coon Rapids, MN; grandchildren: Brett Bakke, Hudson, WI, Richard (Ronae) Bakke, Coon Rapids, MN and Linda (Dan) Nelson, Maple Lake, MN; great grandchildren: Sarah Bakke, Coon Rapids, MN, Zachary (Stephanie) Nelson, Phoenix, AZ, Heather, Elijah and Jacob Nelson, Maple Lake, MN; sister, Lorraine Brown, St. Paul, MN; brother, Kermit (Betty) Eastman, Sauk Rapids, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband Alfred in 1982; parents; step-father, George Eastman; brothers, Joseph, Gordon and Edwin, sisters, Alice Eastman, Helen Christensen, Gladys Erickson, Margaret Amren, Violet Jacobson and Katherine Travnicek.
