Mildred Emma Dahl, 86, of Thief River Falls passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Thief River Care Center where she had been a resident since January 12, 2018 due to a recent illness.
Millie's funeral service will be held Saturday February 3rd at 12:00 PM at Petersburg Lutheran Church in Petersburg, ND, with Pastor Valerie Teppo officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Interment will be held at the Petersburg Cemetery in the spring.
Mildred Emma Mork was born April 14, 1931, in Petersburg, ND, to Henry and Ethel (Nash) Mork. She was raised in the rural Petersburg area and graduated from Petersburg High School in 1948. After graduation she worked at The Kite Cafe in Michigan, ND, and spent one summer working in Yellowstone National Park.
Millie was united in marriage to Dennis Dahl on July 6, 1951 in Petersburg, ND. After initially living in Alabama during Dennis's military service, Millie and Dennis made their home in various locations in North Dakota. In 1963 they made their final move to Thief River Falls, MN. Millie worked many years as a medical clinic receptionist in TRF.
Millie enjoyed yard work, flowers, genealogy, birdwatching, and anything that involved her family. She liked to crochet afghans of all sizes and styles, and many family members were recipients of her work. Millie and Dennis shared many wonderful snowmobiling trips in the Midwest and Yellowstone and later many antiquing/sightseeing trips in the Midwest and Mountain states.
In recent years she mastered her iPad, and loved to sit with her dog Molly and keep up with the world in this way.
Millie is survived by children Terry Dahl of Middle River, MN, Dean (Mary) Dahl of Thief River Falls, MN, and Connie (Steven) Lee of Badger, MN; grandchildren Aaron Kessler, Dena Hushka, Tara Ellenson, Jessica Simmons, Erin Murray, and Kya Lee; great grandchildren Morgan, Nash, Abigail, Nolan, William, Olivia, and Samuel; sisters Evie Nelson and Hazel Frederikson; brothers James Mork, Robert Mork, and Richard Mork; and many extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dennis in 2016, infant daughter Carol Marie, sister Vivian Brueckner, and brother William Mork.
