Mildred (Millie)Lizotte, 96, of Red Lake Falls, passed away Thursday December 23, 2010 at Hillcrest Senior Living with her granddaughters Melissa and Andrea at her side.
A memorial service will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church on Monday December 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Millies ashes will be interred at St. Joseph Cemetery alongside her husband at a graveside service in the spring.
Mildred was born November 22, 1914 in Brown Creek Township, the eldest daughter of Fred and Mary (Hilse) Weiss. She married Leonard Lizotte on June 12, 1945 and they lived in Red lake Falls their entire life. Leonard passed away in 1980.
Mildred was an avid gardener, a very accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed knitting. Her passion was the Minnesota Twins baseball team and was an avid fan and always looked forward to spring and summer to be able to watch and listen to the games.
Mildred is survived by her son Doug Lizotte and his wife Mary of Buffalo, MN, granddaughters Melissa Lizotte, of San Diego, CA, Andrea (Eric) Granstrom of Golden Valley, MN, great-grandchildren Matthew Granstrom and Leah Granstrom, sisters Evelyn Wagner, Adeline Beyer and Marie Casavan, brother-in-law Arlie Hams, sister-in-law Rita (Lizotte) Hamm, numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, sister, Lila Hams, and her parents.
