Obituary

Milton Erickson Newfolden, MN, 74, died Sunday October 26, 2014 at his residence in Newfolden, MN surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service will be Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN with Reverend Cathie Rhodes Officiating. Burial will be held at Spruce Valley Cemetery rural Middle River, MN. Visitation will be Saturday, 5 - 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and also one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday. Milton Elwood Erickson born February 8, 1940 in Deer Township, Roseau County to Robert and Esther (Kimble) Erickson. He attended District 68 Country School for 8 years and then to Greenbush High School. He was Baptized and Confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Strathcona, MN. Milton was a Lifelong farmer along with heavy equipment operator, he Worked for Selmer and Vic Waage Logging and Lumber, Elmer Johnson House Moving, Earl Voytilla, bought a dozer and was self-employed, ending his working career with Davidson Construction of Holt. After retiring he continued to work various jobs hauling snow for the City of Newfolden and driving beet truck even though his health was declining. Married Beverly Anderson on May 27, 1961 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden and they had three children. They bought a farm in rural Newfolden together they raised their children and farmed. Hobbies include admiring and watching his grandkids and hearing their stories. He enjoyed family, playing cards at the café, farming and tinkering on the farm. He moved into an apartment in Newfolden and always said he had it so nice there. He enjoyed driving around and watching what was going on in the community. He would sit for a long time watching a construction site, road construction or at auction sales. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden Survivors include Beverly Erickson, Jeff (Arlene) Erickson of North Pole, AK, Jane (Mark) Schaumburg of Thief River Falls, MN and Jason (Tara) Erickson of Newfolden, MN and grandchildren Amanda Erickson, Shayla Erickson, David Erickson, Matt (Mallory) Schaumburg, Emma Dagenais, SkyeLyn Dagenais and Tarson Erickson: Sisters Victoria Waage of Greenbush, MN, Mae Borreson of Strathcona, MN and Lillian Howdahl of Greenbush, MN. Sister-in-laws: Mary Anderson of Newfolden, MN and Roma Erickson of Thief River Falls, MN and brother-in-law Harlan (Geraldine) Anderson of Hardin, MT., several nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces, other relatives and many friends. Preceded: Sisters Jeannette Kasprowicz and brother Kenneth Erickson, nephews Ja Anderson and Robert Kasprowicz. Brother-in-laws: Dean Anderson, Selmer Waage, Ingvald Borreson, Walter Kasprowicz, Harold Howdahl and Bob Stauffenecker; great nephews and a great niece. Casketbearers: Greg Graham, Ernie Johnson, Robbie Carlson, Jerry Gillund, Gary Leader, Bob Engen.
