Obituary

Milton Sande, 78, Red Lake Falls, MN died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Milton A. Sande was born May 27, 1926 in Bemidji, MN, the son of Arnie and Julia (Johnson) Sande. He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith and later in life converted to the Catholic Faith. He attended Central School, Bemidji, MN, graduating from Bemidji High School. He entered the United States Navy, during World War 11, May 21, 1944 and was Honorably Discharged May 23, 1946. Milton re-enlisted in the United States Navy, May 21, 1951, during the Korean Conflict, and was Honorably Discharged, June 17, 1952.

Milton was united in marriage to Shirley Clement, December 9, 1964. During his career he delivered fuel for Skelly Oil in Bemidji, two time commander of the VFW in Bemidji, worked at Sioux Land dressed beef plant, Fargo, and managed the VFW Club, West Fargo for 18 years. Milton most recently managed Lincoln Apartments, Red Lake Falls, MN.

In his younger years, Milton enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting coins and military memorabilia.

He was past member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge, American Legion and he was a life long member of the VFW, Thief River Falls.

Milton is survived by wife, Shirley, Red Lake Falls, MN; sisters: Marion Kolstad, Moorhead, MN, Helen OGrady, Medford, OR, Alice Erickson, Farmington, MN and Eleanore (Gordon) Walters, Bemidji, MN; sister-in-law, Beverly Sande; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by son, Jeff Sande; parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ted and May Clement; brother, Albert Sande; sister, Bertha Olson; brothers-in-law, Sigurd Olson, Orville Kolstad and Dale Erickson.
