Monna Marquis Solberg, 50, died on Monday, May 30, 2005 at her home in rural Goodridge, MN.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Ekelund Lutheran Church, rural Goodridge, MN with Reverend Robert Dahlen, officiating. Burial will be in Ekelund Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN

Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Friday, June 3, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 7:30 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church, Saturday.

Monna Le Marquis was born August 22, 1954 the daughter of Earl George and Angie O. (Race) Marquis in Thief River Falls, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Grygla. She attended grade school in Grygla and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1972. Monna then attended Northland Community College for 2 years and transferred to Bemidji State University, where she graduated with an Elementary Education Degree.

On November 15, 1975 she was united in marriage to Brian Richard Solberg at Ekelund Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Thief River Falls from 1975 to 1978, when they moved to their present home in Goodridge in 1978. Monna worked intermittently as a teacher in Red Lake Falls and Plummer, MN for a few years. She then became a substitute teacher.

Monna was a member of Ekelund Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a member of Minnesota Teachers Association. She enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, flowers, gardening, dancing and riding horses. She spent a lot of time baking with her nieces and nephews.

Survived by husband, Brian, Goodridge, MN; son, Jared, Thief River Falls; parents, Earl and Angie Marquis, Goodridge; 3 sisters, Lemay (Alec) Moe, Thief River Falls, MN, Monica (Jim) Roach, Goodridge, MN and Marla (Mike) Stein, New Hope, MN; 3 brothers, Monte Marquis, Rollag, MN, Meade (Vickie Halsa) Marquis, Thief River Falls, MN and Earl (Penny) Marquis Jr., Goodridge, MN; father and mother-in-law, Chester and Ordell Solberg, Goodridge, MN; brothers-in-law, Bruce (Diane) Solberg, Goodridge, MN and Paul (Sue) Solberg, Elk River, MN; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by grandparents and brother-in-law, David.
