Obituary


Morris Mogen, 79, died on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, December 8, 2006 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Nancy Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Morris Eugene Mogen was born on March 24, 1927 in Sanders Township, Pennington County, MN the son of Morris and Myrtle (Arneson) Mogen. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1945. Following High School he attended NDSU, graduating with a Minor in Accounting and Major in Agriculture Economics.

Morris served in the United States Army from June 28, 1945 to November 23, 1946 receiving the Army of Occupation Medat and the WW II Victory Medal.

Morris worked for the Internal Revenue Service and in 1977 he started working as an Independent Financial Advisor/Tax Consultant in Mentor, MN and Crookston, MN. He retired in 1985. In 1987 he moved to Crookston and he has lived in Thief River Falls for the last 7 years.

Morris enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and playing Pinochle, Poker and Bridge with family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post Ecklund-Holmstron Post #117 in Thief River Falls and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the USA in Crookston, MN.

Morris is survived by two children: Lyn R. Sebenaler of Thief River Falls, MN and Cathie J. Gagner of Thief River Falls, MN; five grandchildren: April Sebenaler of Phoenix, AZ, Joel Wilkens, Dusty Gagner of Thief River Falls, MN, Tracy Wilkens of Chandler, AZ and Nick Gagner of Thief River Falls, MN.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith A. Wilkens; his parents; Morris and Myrtle Mogen; and one brother, James Mogen.
