Morris Alton Stenberg, 83, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.
Morris Stenberg was born September 17, 1921 at Halstad, MN, the son of Andrew and Martha (Ostebee) Stenberg. He was baptized at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND at the age of 12 and accepted Christ as his personal Savior in adulthood. He grew up and attended school at Hendrum, MN.
On December 12, 1943, Morris was united in marriage to Jean Lois Bucholz. Early during their marriage they operated a milk route in Grygla, MN. They later moved to International Falls, where he initially worked at the paper mill and later owned Cities Service Station. In the 1950s Morris and Jean moved with their family to Prescott, Arizona, where they built and operated Hassayampa Trailer Park and Morries Drive-Inn. In the early 1960s they owned Morries Grocery in South International Falls. They moved to Thief River Falls in 1963 and have resided here since that time.
Morris was a man of many talents and enjoyed working with his hands. He worked on cars and built several homes and businesses. He loved children and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survived by wife, Jean, Thief River Falls, MN; six children; Sharon (Dennis) McCullough, Thief River Falls, MN, Nancy (Wayne) Dahl, Maple Lake, MN, Morris (Karen) Stenberg Jr., Plymouth, MN, Gloria (Gerald) Schulte, Thief River Falls, MN, Cindy (John) Krankkala, Thief River Falls, MN and Mark (Kathy) Stenberg, Park Rapids, MN; grandchildren; Jennifer (Steve) Olson, Jeff (Kim) Langan, Lisa (Bill) Desrocher, Heidi (Frank) Tranby, Angela (James) Morken, Matthew (Cindy) Stenberg, Andrew Stenberg, Kari and Jessica Krankkala, Sarah Schulte, Rebecca (Nick) Young, Nicholas, Savannah, Dylan and Melissa Stenberg; great grandchildren; Benjamin, Samuel and Isaac Olson, Alissa, Aaron and Adam Langan, Elisabeth, William and Seth Desrocher, Jacob and Hope Tranby, Justin, Zachary and Emily Morken.
Preceded in death by parents; five brothers; Alvin, Elmer, Sr., Joseph, Arnold and Edgar; and four sisters; Sophia Dullum, Clara Christopherson, Mabel Seabold and Marian Ruud.
