Moses Kolestrand, 91, died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN.


A visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a sharing of stories at 7:00 PM.

Moses was born November 19, 1915 to Detrick and Caroline (Flatten) Kolestrand in Highlanding Township, in rural Goodridge, MN. He attended country school near Goodridge, MN. As a young man, Slim worked on the farm and flew his airplanes. He had a welding shop located on the farm until he began work at Solar Aircraft in Des Moines, IA. He returned to the farm in 1955 where he operated his welding shop and did local trucking. Slim went on many hunting trips. He enjoyed flying ultra light airplanes and involved himself in building small aircraft.

Without a family he was loved by his nephews: Gary (Julia) Hanson, Bemidji, MN; Lyle (Gabriel) Hanson, Thief River Falls, MN; great niece and nephews: Jade, Erica, Michael, Gretchen, Molly, Tyler, and one great great nephew Eiljah.

Moses was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anna Hanson.
