Muriel Cameron, 89, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 5, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Dave Widerski officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday prior to service at the church.
Muriel Mathilda Stewart was born on September 16, 1915 in Pembina County, ND, near Cavalier, ND, the daughter of Ebenezer and Martha (McConaghy) Stewart. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith and attended Country School near Cavalier, ND through the 8th Grade. The family moved to Tuttle, ND, where Muriel graduated from Tuttle High School. She attended Dickinson College and Valley City College, graduating in 1935. She taught rural schools in North Dakota for six years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Thief River Falls and a past member of the Minnesota Teacher Association.
Muriel was united in marriage on June 6, 1936 to Stanley Cameron in Bismarck, ND. The couple farmed in Pembina County until 1953, when they moved to St. Hilaire, MN. She taught school in St. Hilaire for 22 years, retiring in 1976.
Muriel is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Danny) Johnson of East Grand Forks, MN and Phyllis (Arnie) Hall of Hoyt Lakes, MN; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; her parents; two daughters, one in infancy and Linda; and three sisters: Eva Hogan, Laura Walsh and Lois Bachman.
Muriel Cameron, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 16 days. May her memory be blessed.
