Muriel Skalet, Thief River Falls, MN age 87, passed away on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at Karlstad Nursing Center, Karlstad, MN.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.  Burial will follow at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery rural Oklee, MN.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Muriel Skalet was born April 8, 1930 in Mayfield Township, Pennington County, MN the daughter of Arthur and Oline "Lena" (Warstad) Skalet and identical twin to Myrtle.  She grew up on the family farm in Mayfield Township and has lived in Plummer, MN, Red Lake Falls, MN, Argyle, MN, Faribault, MN, Fergus Falls, MN, Thief River Falls, MN and most recently Karlstad, MN.

She had a spunky personality, loved lefse, donuts, chocolate, stuffed animals, listening to music and celebrating her birthday!

Survivors include her twin sister, Myrtle Skalet; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Thilda (2016) (Olaf) Haugen and Alton (1979) (Evelyn) Skallet, Selma (1989) (Carl) Peterson, Gladys (2001) (Harold) Walseth, Stella (2015) (Edwin) Halvorson and Helen (2016) (John Cardella & Ed Sampley) Sampley.
