With her loving family present, Muriel Vagle, age 82, passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 28, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Mark Helgeland and Rev. Ben Carlsen officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with a Prayer Service at 5:00 PM. Muriel Joan Enquist was born August 31, 1930 at the Kittson Co. Memorial Hospital in Hallock, MN, the daughter of Julius and Edna (Grandquist) Enquist. This was also her parent's first wedding anniversary. She was raised in Kennedy, MN and attended school there, graduating as the class salutatorian from KHS in 1948. Following high school, she attended and graduated from Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND. Muriel worked at several secretarial jobs in the area. Muriel married Wallace Vagle February 10, 1951 at Maria Lutheran Church in Kennedy. They settled in Thief River Falls in 1955 where they raised their family. Together, Muriel and Wally enjoyed fishing, camping, watching basketball games, and enjoying time with her family and friends. Muriel attended First Lutheran Church, later called Redeemer Lutheran. She worked for 10 years as parish secretary there. Muriel enjoyed all kinds of handiwork, especially crocheting and quilting with the ladies group at Redeemer. She attended church circles, and was a member of the altar guild. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Muriel is survived by husband, Wally of Thief River Falls, MN; children , Ellen (Alan) Anton of Stephen MN, David (Irene) Vagle of Alexandria, MN, and Nancy (Hal) Harbott of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Matt Anton of Ramsey, MN, Sarah (Blair) Klamar of Grygla, MN, Trisha (Dewey) Kostrzewski of Thief River Falls, MN, Katie (Brian Carr) Harbott of Lindstrom, MN, Cari (Danni) Jarshaw of Newfolden, MN, Leah (Greg Pudlick) Vagle of Becker, MN, Kelley Vagle of Bemidji, MN; great-grandchildren, Blaine Kostrzewski, Braedon and Benjamin Carr, Tuff Jarshaw, Rylan Klamar, and great-granddaughter, Ellie Klamar to be born in February; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Julius and Edna Enquist.
